General Considerations for Streamers

Hooks: Gamakatzu SL12S  #4/0 – #6/0 (note that this hook is smaller than other similar in size other hooks brand should work in #2/0 and #3/0)

EYES and Weights: Most pattern should be unweight and light, avoid led on body and metal tungsten eyes. Only use Bead Chain Eyes on large deceivers.

This is very important for a couple of reasons: First, lots of underwater structure that will produce continues annoying snags when using weighted flies.  Second, this flies are 6 to 8 inches long, and after casting all day long you want them as light and sparse as possible.

Regarding colors, you should plan on bringing 50% of the flies on full black color since in normally most productive and then a variety of color as shown on pictures for the remaining flies.

Natural Materials always work super nice but sytenthics last longer on the teeth of Dorado and specially with “palometas” (pyranya species comun on Ibera Wetlans)

Surface Patterns

In this case, 50% of the surface flies, should be mouse patterns. Full body deer hair, with tails on hard rubber or leather  are proved to work best.

You can plan an assortment of any other surface patterns that you would like to try based on the samples below, we are sure those will produce some spectacular strikes.
