Golden Strike Time

Golden Strike Time

Sitting at the top of the food chain, the Golden Dorado (also known as the River Tiger) shows no hesitancy after deciding to attack a fly. There is nothing delicate about “the take” and even the most seasoned angler feels the anticipation and excitement for the battle that is about to begin!
After a successful hook set its Showtime! The fight begins with the first of many strong runs punctuate with multiple acrobatic leaps. You’ll soon realize that a Dorado, like a tarpon, has no intention of allowing you to succeed in your quest to bring him to hand. I’m sorry to tell you that more often than not the Dorado will be the winner.
Any angler that has had the opportunity to set the hook on a Dorado will tell you the same thing. No other fish invokes the feeling of exhilaration and elation when they take your fly like the “take” of a Dorado.

One of the greatest aspects of our Dorado program is the beauty of the natural environment that surrounds the fishing locations. On the upper Parana River, the banks are lined with dense tropical forest containing multiple species of exotic birds and howler monkeys. The river is wide but broken-up by multiple islands, rock outcroppings and fallen timber. In the Ibera Wetlands you will be awed by this unspoiled wildness with unique vegetation, aquatic birds, caiman and capybara. Fortunately, both locations are also home to some of the best Dorado fishing in South America!
