Kick Plastic

Plastic pollution is choking our rivers and oceans around the world. At SET Fly Fishing, we want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Over the last few years, we used on average 15,000 plastic bottles per season, which has produced unnecessary litter and weighed on our conscience. For these reasons, we are joining Costa’s #kickplastic movement by committing to greatly reducing our plastic use as a company going forward. This will benefit the rivers and lakes we fish and the blue planet we all call home.

To accomplish our goal, we have started encouraging our guests to bring their own reusable water bottles. For those who don’t have one, or simply forgot to bring one, we provide aluminum bottles to borrow or purchase. In addition to the usual beverages we offer our guests, we have jugs of water in all the bedrooms, boats, and trucks, so everyone can serve themselves whenever they wish. Because of these simple, yet important improvements to our operations, we have far less of those little plastic bottles left around our boats, trucks, and campsites. The feedback so far from our guests has been great, in both words and in action, as several anglers recently brought their own reusable bottles, while others opted to buy new ones.
This year we will strive to reduce our plastic use even more! If you will be fishing at any of our lodges, we encourage you to #kickplastic with us by bringing a reusable water bottle on your fly-fishing adventure.
