A Wetland Wonder: Unveiling Ibera's Secrets
From Recovery to Thriving: A Guide's Perspective
January 24th, 2024 – Nico Gracia: “We explored Ibera from the upper reaches to the lower system on Trim Lagoon. While water levels have returned to normal, the visibility remains limited. Overgrown vegetation and oxygenation levels suggest significant water flow is needed for complete restoration. Unfortunately, we haven’t witnessed much fish activity, neither Dorado nor other species.”
February 24th, 2024 – Lucas Mora: “After three days of dedicated fishing, we’re happy to report the first signs of recovery with several small Dorado catches. Larger specimens might be holding deeper in the lagoon. Water clarity remains poor, but levels are near historical averages.”
Early March 24th, 2024 – Carlos Cavalli: “We waded into the water for a quick evaluation, and while the fishery wasn’t quite ready for prime fishing, we witnessed the first days of significant improvement. Water clarity has noticeably increased, and we’re thrilled to see large schools of Sabalo and other fish species returning to the system.”
Early May 24th, 2024 – Tette and Lucas: “The revitalization of Ibera is truly inspiring! We experienced incredible fishing action with many large fish. The water is as clear as ever, and we have no doubt that Ibera will be in peak condition after a winter filled with rain. We can’t wait to welcome anglers next September – it will be an unforgettable return!”
