Cabaña de Esteros

Home waters are always special. They are the place you’ve known for a long time, and have come to learn every intimate detail. You’ve spent many hours through changing seasons and varying weather conditions, studying it, thinking about it, and calculating your next moves even when you weren’t there. Over time, and after many seasons fishing, it became an environment where you feel comfortable guiding.
But you still long for that other feeling. The one that comes with adventure, exploration, and the unknown, as you search for new destinations. The process of investigating, planning, and dreaming begins again.

At SET Fly Fishing, we proudly think of ourselves as a very passionate team of anglers, devoted to nature and loving what we do. We are constantly seeking new adventures and new places that may eventually be revealed to our guests. Even after so many years in business and successfully operating in Patagonia and northern Argentina, we still feel that desire to expand our horizons and find new places to fish. It keeps us excited, as we were when we were young and anticipating an exploration, and keeps us connected to the pure essence of fishing.

Dan guidding at Chochoy Mallin

Our most recent challenge was at Chochoy Mallin Lodge, which delivered an extraordinary inaugural first season, operating by helicopter and still adding new fisheries to the menu. And before Chochoy, was La Alondra Lodge and the incredible fishery for Golden Dorado we discovered in the beautiful Ibera Wetland.

We are continuing to follow that spark of adventure that led us to so many incredible, untouched places that are now regular venues for our guests. Today, we are opening our new Golden Dorado Lodge, Jetu’u Cabaña de Esteros. This is the result of several years of Exploring the Isoro Wetlands and finding the perfect location to fish these new waters and also have access to a remarkably productive section of the middle section of the Parana River. Multiple guests have already enjoyed the experience, stay tuned more to come on our next Newsletter.
