Rakin Lodge – A New Frontier for Trout Fishing

Many of you know me personally and share my passion for fly fishing, especially when it comes to discovering new and untouched waters to offer our anglers. In today’s world, it often feels like every trout stream and prime fishing spot has been explored or claimed as an international destination.

Since 2017, the Set Fly Fishing team has dedicated long hours and countless days—now spanning several years—to exploring the northern section of Neuquén province, which I’ve come to call “The Last Frontier of Trout Fishing in Patagonia.” This secluded and hard-to-reach region in Northern Patagonia has remained off the radar for most trout enthusiasts, presenting us with a hidden gem, waiting to be discovered.

Our ability to fly over the entire region via helicopter over the past four seasons has given us access to every stream, creek, and pond. We’ve uncovered the finest fisheries and sections that we know you’ll want to experience firsthand. Moreover, we’ve built valuable relationships with local landowners, granting us exclusive access to areas never fished by others.

Rakin Lodge

We are thrilled to introduce Rakin Lodge, situated on a 30,000-acre ranch that holds the pristine waters of the Codihue River. This addition to our portfolio is truly a paradise for dry fly anglers. The river boasts a superb willow inchworm hatch and an incredible hopper season, making it a dream destination for those who love fly fishing.

At Rakin Lodge, you will have the opportunity to fish in some of the most unspoiled trout streams in Northern Neuquén. The program offers exclusive access to waters surrounded by breathtaking, untouched landscapes. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and solitude that so many of you seek on your trips.
