Gustavo Hiebaum

Gustavo grew up in Bahia Blanca a small town south of Buenos Aires on the Atlantic Coast. He developed a deep passion for fishing at a very young age. His parents would routinely take him on family vacations to Patagonia. After almost 20 years in the fly fishing industry Gustavo´s passion for fly fishing is untouched. He is continually looking out for new ventures around the country, training new guides and maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. Many years ago he founded Andes Drifters, and after joining forces with Andres and Marcelo, they founded SET Fly Fishing.

Andres Martinez

Andres grew up along the Rio Parana River where he got involved with the passion of fishing. After a successful career as marketing manager for John Deer in South America decided to pursue his passion of fly fishing for Dorado. He partnered up with Marcelo Callegaris and in association with Andes Drifters they have created in 2013 Parana on the Fly Lodge. He know runs and guides for this successful lodge and is in continuous search for new waters and techniques to chase Dorado and training new guides for our programs.

Marcelo Callegaris

He is one of the most knowledgeable Dorado angler period and pioneer guiding on the upper Parana River having Marcelo running the operational guarantee that our anglers will have the best strategies and fishing plans every day. Flies patterns designer and developer of new techniques to chase Dorado, Pacu and Pira-Pita Marcelo have revolution this fishery to become an international recognized destination.

Matias Claret

Born porteño, Patagonian by choice, Matias made his first experiences in Graphic Design and Online Marketing for several years before leaving for New Zealand for a year. Without much hesitation, once he was back in Argentina, he moved south to Patagonia where the paths of life lead him to the fly fishing universe and SET fly fishing. During the fishing season he will be the face behind the curtain, guiding your way and assisting you in every travel related matter before, during and after your trip.

Santiago Tute Paz

Born and raised in bs as. My first trip to Patagonia was at age ten and nothing was quite the same anymore. Love for outdoors, rivers, lakes and mountain was embedded in my DNA. Teenage biology field trip to íbera wetlands was also curiously life defining. Fast forward I’m pouring 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having roamed around Bariloche, Ushuaia, Salta, Spain and rio Pico I’m back home where it all started, I’m tute, welcome to Set fly fishing, how can I help you?

Florencia Obara

Hailing from Argentina’s stunning coast near Buenos Aires, Flor’s adventurous spirit has taken her around the globe. Fluent in Spanish, English, and German, she connects with our guests from all backgrounds. A natural host, Flor loves baking, traveling, skiing, and camping. Her friendly personality and can-do attitude make her a valuable asset to our team, ensuring guests receive thorough, fast, and accurate assistance.

Kevin Landon

Kevin’s fascination with Argentina began during his first visit in 2009. Since then he has traveled to numerous destinations within the country and fished at multiple locations. In 2016, several years after retiring from a career in the financial industry, he joined the Andes Drifters team. Since then he has focused his marketing efforts in the western US, particularly Colorado. Additionally, he has been very involved with the company’s sponsored fundraising programs with non-profit organizations such as Trout Unlimited and Casting for Recovery. Mat Wagner

Currently a guide and shop owner, Mat has been involved in the fly fishing world since his first job doing inventory at his local fly shop in exchange for gear when he was 13. Ever since then he has never looked back. Spending time chasing all kinds of different species in the Midwestern United States as well as Canada and Northern New Mexico, he thought he had seen it all. Once he took his first trip with SET fly fishing, Argentina instantly became his dream fishing destination. Mat is always happy to share his experience with you to make sure your trip runs as smoothly and as simply as possible.

Geri Meyer

Having grown up in the Pacific Northwestern part of the United States one might think that Geri would have been a fly fisher all of her life, but her fly fishing passion truly started in northern New Mexico about 25 years ago. Geri and her husband Mat relocated to SW Wisconsin in ‘06 to open a fly shop in the Driftless region, and she started guiding the area’s spring creeks shortly after that. She also owns and operates womensflyshop.com and she is committed to exposing as many women as possible to this beautiful sport.Geri has chased fish all over North America, the South Pacific, and the Caribean. She runs women’s specific trips and would love to help any women navigate booking trips with SET.

Robbie Smith

Robbie grew up fly fishing and hunting for quail and ducks in North Carolina. He is very active in Ducks Unlimited and other conservation efforts. Robbie is an avid collector of vintage duck decoys and routinely gives educational talks at various decoy shows or wildlife expos. Chip Drozenski was his friend and mentor and introduced him to the Andes Drifters Family many years ago.

Bruce Dancik

A retired professor from the University of Alberta and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Bruce is an experienced fly fisher with a passion for exploring the waters of North America, New Zealand, and Argentina. Alongside his wife, Brenda, they have fished and traveled extensively throughout Argentina for over two decades, becoming true experts on the region. As ambassadors for Set Fly Fishing, they share their travel experiences with potential clients and assist them in planning their dream vacations to Argentina.

Rachel Finn

Rachel visit us for the first time in 2019, and she’s been like family since then. She proclaims herself an Artist, Fishing Guide a hoarder, and several other things. Rachel brings infectious enthusiasm to everything she does. When she is not guiding at the Adirondacks you will most likely find her at her art studio, or chasing fish in Northern Patagonia. A true fan of the upper Malleo, but also the Limay, she has been hosting trips with us every year since the first time.

Ralph Scherder

Ralph Scherder fished with SET for the first time in Spring 2024. He has won almost 30 awards for his writing and photography, and is a fishing guide based in northcentral Pennsylvania. You can read about his many adventures on his website, www.DarkSkiesFlyFishing.com, including stories from his first trip to Patagonia. Although he enjoyed all of the rivers he has fished so far in Patagonia and looks forward to exploring many new ones, the Chimehuin is what will keep him coming back for many years to come. And the people. And the wine. And the food. All of it will keep him coming back!

As we have grown and matured as a company our clients service requests have also grown. Over the years we have developed expertise in organizing both hunting, lifestyle and eco/adventure trips. We now offer two new entities: WOW Argentina and Andino Hunt.

Our successful red stag hunting program paved the path for the formation of Andino Hunt. Being a diverse hunting company it offer not only red stag but also dove, duck and quail hunts in various locations throughout the country.

Chip
Drozenski

In the initial years of the company Chip came to visit for the first time to celebrate his retirement from IBM. Shortly thereafter he joined the team and became a key member of the business mentoring Gustavo on how to manage and grow the company. Chip and his wife Maureen traveled throughout Argentina and fished just about every corner of Patagonia. Realizing that many of our guests had fallen in love with Argentina and wanted touring and travel experiences in addition to fishing he developed the lifestyle and adventure side of the business.
Chip will be truly missed but his legacy and friendship will never be forgotten.
