Ysoro Marsh & middle Paraná River - #ACTION
Jetu’u lodge at the ysoro wetlands offer plenty of action inside a marsh environment for smaller Golden Dorado, with the possibility of bigger fish only 1 hour boat drive from the lodge.
October through mid December, then mid February through May.
Solo Anglers, Couples and groups of Friends
The Ysoro marsh is located in Corrientes Province, North East Argentina halfway between the towns of Goya and Esquina. These wetlands are a product of a spillover of the middle section of the Parana River.
The main attraction of the area is the possibility to fish the marsh with surface patterns and deceivers. The marsh is a nursery for Golden Dorado, so here you will find plenty of action for smaller fish. Also, since the wetlands are connected to the midsection of the Parana River, you can target bigger water, for bigger fish.
Golden Dorado is the main target, but here you will find other species as Chafalote, Pacu, pira-pita, and Palometa, which offer additional action.
Jetu’u, Lodge is located inside the Stella Maris region, in the heart of the Ysoro Marsh, only 30 miles from Goya.
The house has four double bedrooms, and comfortable common areas. The swimming pool is a great asset after a long warm day of fishing.
The boats are only a few feet away from the rooms, so no transfers are needed, only a few minutes boat ride to the action, which translate to more time in the water.
Our Golden Dorado program offers guests the unique opportunity to fish two completely different destinations in just one week. With three lodges in distinctively varied locations, we have the flexibility to run a highly successful combination program.
The program starts in Buenos Aires and includes 3 charter flights to get you quickly and conveniently to your destinations.
Each of our lodge areas are fed by different water sources, so while one may be less than optimal, the other two could be at their best.
Our priority is to always provide the best fishing experience possible under current conditions, and using charter flights as part of the program provides fast and easy access to these different waters, connecting the diferent lodges.
DAY 1: Charter flight from Buenos Aires to the first lodge.
DAY 2 to 4: Three (3) full day fishing.
DAY 5: Early morning charter flight to the second lodge (30 minutes). Full day fishing. DAY 6 and 7: Two (2) full day fishing.
DAY 8: Charter flight from the Lodge directly to Buenos Aires.
This trip is limited to a total of 8 anglers. Ask us about single angler rates.

Our water conditions are stable and predictable throughout the season therefore every month fishes equally well.
The season runs from September through the end of May. However, the outside temperatures and humidity are something to consider when planning your visit.
Southern hemisphere has opposite seasons, so January and February are the peak of summer in Argentina. This is also a tropical region, so day temperatures can reach to +90 F during that time frame, despite all the rooms being equipped with A/C you probably do not want to be casting with the temperature.
We strongly recommend shoulder seasons. September, through mid December, then Late February through May are the best moments to fish for Golden Dorado.
Here you will find our recommendations for gear. Have in mind that if you want to pack lightly we have gear we can lend at no extra cost. If you decide to use our gear, please let us know in advance so we can have everything ready at your arrival.
For the rest of our Golden Dorado lodges we recommend 8wt, but since inside the Ysoro wetlands you will find plenty of chances on smaller Golden Dorados, a 6wt is preffered.
For the main river a 8wt will be good when fighting a bigger fish.
Lines have to be “tropical” due to the water/air temperature in the area. As we said before, its nice to have two rods with different lines, but here is the deal.
One weight forward floating line (WFF) – This would be for surface patterns, mainly for mice. And an intermediate clear tip for streamers.
At the Ibera Wetlands, as water is so clear, we only ask for two floating lines. One for surface patterns, and the other one for streamers.
Most of the tropical lines should do the trick, but here are the ones we recommend.
Tropical Floating Line: Scientific Anglers Mastery Jungle Titan.
Intermediate clear tip: Scientific Anglers Sonar Titan Jungle Clear Tip. Sonar Titan Sink Tip Mini.
Leaders for dorado should be 9 feet long, and the secret formula goes as follows: 5+3+1.
Five feet (5 ft) 0,7 mm mono + three feet (3 ft) 0,6 mm mono + one feet 40 lbs Wire Bite tippet.
You can also use the 8+1 formula: 8 feet of mono (0,7 mm for the Upper parana, and 0,6 mm for the wetlands), plus 1 feet bite wire.
SA Absolute Hard Mono 30 lb. 40 lb. and 50 lb.
SA Wire Bite Tippet 40 lbs for dorado.
Your guide will provide any fly you might need.

Wetlands, such a beautiful place and the fishing was incredible
The food at both lodges was excellent. The guides are true professionals. The lodge experience and efficieny was excellent.
Loved every minute of it , the professionalism of all staff was amazing.
Great locations – exceptional staff at lodges – amazing meals
The lodge accommodations, all staff and guides, food and drink were first-rate – couldn’t be better. You accommodated those in our group who had health issues arise – much appreciated. Wildlife in marsh was astounding. Nothing you could do about the weather, which clearly slowed up the fishing in the marsh. The style of fishing on the Parana was a bit surprising, but quite enjoyable with casting targets galore and excellent boat control.
Lucila and her attention to my pre-trip planning, Salta and the marsh, the FOOD!, Disparo and Rugua, ALL the staff attention to my needs and making me feel such a part of the Argentine culture, dinner on the Parana and simplicity of the charter flight back to Buenos Aires.
Fishing was challenging, but very rewarding. Carlos & Nico were great guides that really helped the experience. The level of service was top notch, especially at Itati lodge, Orlando & Raul were amazing!
Excellent trip. Very well organized. All went extremely well. Great people accomadation and food.
The marsh was incredible. Really made great because of the weather and the fishing. The guides were fantastic and the food was awesome. The river was tough fishing – but again, weather dependent. I enjoyed my time and grateful that our group all caught dorado’s and we were able to celebrate together.
