This will be the first article from this new section, funny enough, is not strictly about fly fishing, but somehow related to it.
The entire globe knows that we Argentinians are passionate people—about almost everything. If you’ve experienced fishing with us, you already know we take it seriously. But our passion extends beyond just fishing. It’s woven into our food, where asados, empanadas, and Mate are enjoyed almost religiously. And if there’s one thing that unites nearly all Argentinians, it’s our shared fervor for fútbol, and this particular story is about that.
In 2022, as the world turned its eyes to the Qatar World Cup, Argentina’s journey to victory was nothing short of magical. The tournament ran from November 20 to December 18—right in the peak of our season for Golden Dorados. On the day of Argentina’s first match, our guests checked in, buzzing with anticipation: “Hey, we’d love to watch the game somewhere!”
To be honest, we didn’t play hard to get, so we set out to find the perfect spot. Our journey led us to a local club nearby Corrientes, where the atmosphere was electric—everyone glued to the screens.
When we entered the room with our foreign guests, they were initially puzzled by the intensity of the crowd. But soon enough, they were swept up in the excitement, transforming into true die-hard Argentina fans.
It was a sight to behold—locals, seeing these newcomers cheer for Argentina, began sharing food, offering beers, and before long, everyone was dancing together. And that was just the beginning. For the following matches, we found ourselves watching those in unexpected places: a bakery in Iberá, a cozy bar, the craziest places you can picture yourself watching a futbol match.
It became more than just a routine—it turned into a ritual. Wherever we were, whether during check-in or check-out, we made sure to watch the games with our guests, turning each moment into a shared celebration.
The experience was nothing short of spectacular. Argentina’s victory brought waves of excitement that our guests could hardly comprehend, yet they were fully immersed in the passion and joy that football brings to our country.
These moments allowed us to blend our love for the game with our dedication to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Whether it’s in the lodge, the various fishing spots in Dorados, or the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia, we live and share that same passion every day.
Cultural experiences like these aren’t just memorable—they’re what make each journey extraordinary. And trust us, they’re worth every moment.
